What is dry brushing and why is it important

Have you tried dry brushing?  If you haven't, it’s highly recommended that you do it because the benefits are truly amazing.

To put it simply, dry brushing is one of the best ways to detox, exfoliate, and reduce cellulite. It stimulates blood flow for the regeneration of healthy skin and overall wellness.

Here’s what to know about dry brushing

Dry brushing detoxifies the body internally, moving toxins so you can flush them out through waste. It cleanses toxins externally on the surface of the skin.

Stimulate the nervous system; Improves circulation, and blood flow, and leaves you feeling refreshed and rejuvenated.

Cleanses and improves skin conditions, skin texture, and clarity. The skin looks and feels refreshed, brighter, and glowing.

Improves lymphatic drainage which detoxifies the system to and improve your overall health.

When should I dry the brush? And how regular

  • Dry brushing should be done before you shower so that you can wash and rinse off afterward.

  • It is okay to incorporate dry brushing once a month into your self-care routine.

What’s the best brush for dry brushing?

The best brush to use for dry brushing is a wooden brush with firm natural bristles. The idea is to get one that is firm enough to stimulate circulation so, it needs to be somewhat stiff, some may experience some sensitivities to the brush texture (you’ll have to select a brush that you can tolerate). A brush with a long handle works very well, as well as one that fits into your palm. Personally, I prefer a long-handled brush because it’s easy to get your back and other areas easily.

How to brush

  • Generally, you can dry brush standing in your shower or tub.

  • Start off by brushing your right foot first, brushing upward motion towards your leg.

  • Next brush the left foot including the ankle, calf, knees, legs, etc., moving upward motion.

  • Then move to the buttocks area and brush in a circular motion.

  • Brush both hands including the palms, elbow, etc.

  • Move to the abdomen, chest back, and neck.

  • When you’re done brushing, shower off with warm to cool water (do not use soap) rinse really well, and try off with a clean towel.

  • Next, you’ll need to moisturize with your favorite moisturizer Amazing Body Butter which is formulated with cocoa, Jojoba, Vitamin B3, Macadamia Nut Oil, Flax Seed Oil, Rosehip, Tamanu, Calendula, Chamomile, Arnica.

  • After you moisturize you seal the moisture in with Oils of Nature a truly luxurious blend of organic oils that helps to regenerate collagen, and is loaded with vitamins and minerals. Natural, organic, non-toxic, vegan, cruelty-free, and eco-friendly.

After Treatment

Drink at least three glasses of water (lemon optional) but recommended. Lemon water is a good source of Vitamin C, and it aids in the removal of toxins and waste. Relax after this treatment.
